Hi everyone! Welcome to our Musical Theater department. It’s an honor and a privilege to be a teacher at one of the state’s most respected and renowned performing arts schools. Because of the amazing talent pool and the demanding schedule, students must audition to be accepted into the Musical Theater program and work hard to stay and succeed in it. Each year we put on two full-length musical productions which draw large and enthusiastic audiences. We will also be participating with other California schools in a musical theater competition.
Since you’ll be spending a lot of time with me in class and rehearsals, you might want to know a bit more about my background: Born and raised in Los Angeles, I spent my early years as a professional actor. Although my passion was theater and I spent most of my time on stage, I also worked in TV, film, music videos, commercials, PSA’s, and improv shows. As much as I loved acting and performing, however, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. After high school, I went to Emerson College in Boston where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Theater Education. The cold winters convinced me to come back home and pursue my graduate degree in a warmer climate. I attended Loyola Marymount University and received my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education, with honors. While studying for my degrees, I taught drama at Chelsea High (near Boston), English at Westchester High and directed after school theater programs at Westwood Charter and Culver City Middle School. www.BradyFrome.com
